What is the Los Angeles Region Community Recovery Organization?

The Los Angeles Region Community Recovery Organization (LARCRO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Woolsey Fire victims achieve long term recovery, through providing long term Disaster Case Management and coordinating recovery services and resources. LARCRO is newly formed at the request of FEMA by a coalition of national, regional, and local organizations assisting with the recovery effort for the Woolsey Fire.


What is the Los Angeles Woolsey Fire Long Term Recovery Group?

LARCRO convenes the members of the Los Angeles Woolsey Fire Long Term Recovery Group (LA Woolsey Fire LTRG) which will be a committee of the local VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster), named ENLA (Emergency Network Los Angeles). LARCRO coordinates both local and national partner organizations from the LA Woolsey Fire LTRG to assist with disaster recovery resources as well as individual unmet needs through its Unmet Needs Committee.


What is the focus of the Los Angeles Region Community Recovery Organization?

The Los Angeles Region Community Recovery Organization (LARCRO) was started for and is dedicated to serving victims of the 2018 Woolsey Fire. LARCRO is also committed to creating a template for long term recovery for future disasters in LA County. The focus of the LARCRO is currently on the Woolsey Fire area.


Who is part of the LA Woolsey Fire LTRG?

Close to 80 different organizations are members of the LA Woolsey Fire Long Term Recovery Group. This includes many local faith-based and service providing organizations who already have established relationships in the communities being served, including the American Red Cross, Calvary Church, Chalkline CrossFit, Conejo Cares, Conejo Compassion Coalition, Conrad Hilton Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Jewish Family Services, LV Fire Relief, Lutheran Social Services of SoCal, Pacific Presbytery, and the Salvation Army. For a full list of our partner organizations, please visit our Partners page.


How can I learn more or become a LA Woolsey Fire LTRG member?

You can connect with our Executive Director, Jenni Campbell to learn more about the group and membership. The membership continues to grow and interested organizations and individuals are encouraged to attend membership meetings to learn more. We are also looking for people who can contribute to different aspects of the recovery process to join our Committees (such as Disaster Case Management, Communications, Volunteer, Construction, Finance, Community Wellness).


Who does the Los Angeles Region Community Recovery Organization help?

People who experienced an impact from the Woolsey Fire and have recovery-related needs that they are unable to meet—whether that is with repair or rebuilding, appliances, or other legal, health, mental health or financial needs. 


How does the Los Angeles Region Community Recovery Organization help?

  1. Identifies people in need of assistance with their recovery though outreach and a Community Needs Assessment.

  2. Provides Disaster Case Managers (DCMs) to people with long term recovery assistance needs who are experiencing difficulty recovering on their own. DCMs provide full assessment and partner with people to create and achieve a Recovery Plan to help them reach a new normal.

  3. Organizes Community Wellness events and activities for all community members in the fire impacted areas, and provides connections to mental health and wellness services.

  4. Coordinates funders and organizations in order to complete rebuilding projects and to address unmet needs.
